Meet Our Staff

Michael Gibson

Hello, I'm Michael Gibson, I'm a 5th degree black belt and Head Instructor for Legacy Martial Arts. I started my martial arts journey at age 13, and now with over 30 years of teaching and competition experience. I love to share what I've learned with our students. My wife and I have 5 children. When not teaching martial arts or spending time with my family, I'm an avid outdoorsman spending my free time fishing, on the beach or searching Indian arrowheads, tools and pottery.

Lee Patterson

Hi! I am Lee Patterson and I am the head instructor at our Maysville Rd. location, which I have been doing for about 6 years. My martial arts experience includes training with Sensei Kuhn since 2016, and before that in: Shotokan, and Shuri Ryu Karate. Currently I also train in Brazilian JiuJitsu and Modern Arnis. I have been married to my wife Brandi for 18 years, we have 3 children, and 1 grandchild with a second on the way. In my spare time I lead children's ministry at church with the help of my wife. I am also a musician and enjoy photography.

Teaching martial arts is my passion and what I love to do. I've been training in martial arts since 2018 along with my two sons. They are the reason I started training and have both earned their Junior Black Belts. Now my 4 year old daughter trains as well! When not in the dojo, I'm spending quality time with my children and husband. We like to travel, hike, and explore the world!

Jeremiah Starks

During my time here I have also been an integral part of our competition team earning state ranking from: The Professional Karate Commission and The Tournament Karate Association. When not training or working I love to spend time with my new wife Madi, and to film stunt videos.

Why Choose Legacy Martial Arts?

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Our world class instructors not only ensure that students have fun, get a great workout and learn something new in every class, but develop leaders. We prepare youth to lead at school, in college and to uncover and empower their calling for the future. We partner with parents, who often train alongside them, to raise up kids in the way they should go. The adults in our program appreciate our leadership program too, many already leaders in their own industries. We are a community of leaders continuing to grow. Come join our leadership family!

REAL WORLD SELF DEFENSE

We also happen to teach the most practical self defense arts in the world. Krav Maga, Muay Thai, Kicboxing, and Brazilian JiuJitsu along with traditional Okinawian Karate. We pray for the best but train for the worst. Our program trains your body and mind to survive any threat, to defend your family and get home safe.

PROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTORS

Our instructors are Professional Martial Artists. This is what they do for a living. They are professional teachers and all are college educated. They also train weekly on new tactics and techniques as well as teaching styles. Every instructor has over 20 years of experience in the martial arts.

SUCCESS STARTS HERE

Our program develops Leaders! We specialize in teaching kids and adults how to be leaders in our community. Whether for work, charity, or school being a Black Belt at Premier Martial Arts goes way beyond self-defense.
